I like how Gary Vee adapts his advice in a very thoughtful way, even offering real life examples! 👏

I’m doing everything he’s saying, I’m 22 now. I feel like I’m on the right path. Let’s see what happens.

I'm 48 and I took time off from serving to focus on my YouTube channel The Gatlinburg Hussey here in Gatlinburg,Tennessee Great Smoky mountains Park and I'm so close to 1,000 and I went back to serving today and I absolutely hated it …if you've ever served, you know what I'm talking about… I'm happy making videos but unfortunately it's not paying the bills ..yet

This is probably the most relatable thing ever. I came to the U.S with my parents in 2008 from Peru and there was nothing for us. We lived in an attic for a few years then moved to a one bedroom where my mom, dad, brother and I slept. I saw my dad juggle 2-3 jobs at once and my mom taking care of my brother and I while non of us knew how to speak english. My dad hustled hard enough working 15-20 hour days to finally buy an FHA house in 2015.

Remember we had NOTHING when we came, that’s how much my dad worked.

My dad kept the same work ethic after we bought a house because he wanted to open up his own business since he was always so entrepreneurial. But then came Bad News… Doctors detected my mom a brain tumor… and, she didn’t have insurance. I didn’t know what to feel at the time, i couldn’t feel anything much. All the money went into her surgery and thank the lord she came out well with NO side effects 🙏.

Now we were broke. My dad was now working 3 jobs once again. He used to come home at 3:00 am from doing taxis and then wake up 3 hours later to work.

Fast forward to 2019, my parents open up their first business which was basically producing a loss. (I am going to keep it short -> ) My dad, as always, kept working 20 hour days for 3 years.

We survived covid, the business is producing $400,000 gross sales a year and we are about to open up another business.

Now, I can relate to you Gary because I feel like i owe so much to my parents and i am so happy to work for them. I am now the person in the family working all day and doing college at the same time.

I am 18 btw and i am so excited for the years to come and work for the people I consider my heroes

He's pretty much on point in this 1. He hit the nail on the head here. Sometimes you can have a minimum wage job and do your dream job/Lifestyle/buisness on the side until things have enough time to take off. Time will have to be put in to receive your harvest.

Yah know, its interesting to hear this at 23. Its difficult to really figure your dream out when you have to look back at who you were developing into before that was all twisted and prodded out of you by the "safe job" culture that influenced parenting and vocational decision making. Im now in that space where i'm terrified i won't be able to figure it out AND just only researching/planning what i think the dream is instead of starting anything. A kind of "career paralysis" that seems to be the biggest monster to conquer. Even if i was to defeat it, what would i do then? I have no clue. I haven't been able to EVER consider what that beyond would hold. Anyone else feel like this?

I hope it pays off Gary. Here we go, launching a company finally after years of dreaming. Thank you for the constant encouragement!
