Nice guys might be losing at half-time, but they win the game. Nice guys always win! And the people that are listening now and thinking, "Not for me!", "Everybody takes advantage of me." Mm-mm… you’re manipulating. You’re doing things that ‘look’ kind because you want something in return. True kindness, pure kindness, is undefeated.

People think that if you're kind, you get walked over and I think that is absolutely asinine. I think that a lot of people who claim they're being walked all over are actually just trying to manipulate situations and it didn't work out the way they wanted to. so they use I got walked all over it as excuse.

Exactly. Stating that if ur nice and kind u are easy to be manipulated or walked over is a confession of ur trustworth capabilities and lack of compromise. It is an excuse to make u feel better by denying a situation that confronts and evidence ur lack of self estem. Overall shitty to accept but that’s life. Nothing wrong about having weaknesses, everybody has.

Not true. I was doing a warehouse job even though i have a master's degree and after 2 years they suddenly fire me. I was having on good behavior no problems at all. But got fired for no reason even though they need people to work there. I feel so discreminated. Working in a foreign country could not get job even with good academics and then getting fired from a job where i have put effort.

I've noticed this kind of behavior becoming WAY more common the last few years, especially from guys. What many seem to claim is 'being walked all over,' is other people not doing exactly what they want, when they want and how they want it…these types of people don't seem to care at all about anyone else's wants except their own. Compromising is part of being able to have relationships of any kind, but many adults are becoming unwilling to do that.

They confuse ‘nice guy’ with ‘yes man’ or ‘pushover’

Setting healthy boundaries and being nice aren’t each other opposites. They can and will co-exist.

I feel like people who get walked on sometimes are saying yes to every single thing they're asked to do, and then it becomes a problem because they don't know how to plan

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars WARnTEA says:

If you don’t want to be walked over then you just have to be nice on your own terms. Make being nice an active part of your personality, offer to help people when they need it, when you see them struggle. Give favorable terms on contracts or hell, just show up with free tacos every now and then (everyone loves a free taco).

What you don’t want is to be passively nice. When the power dynamic flips around and all of a sudden people are coming to you for help, your first instinct has to be no, then think about it and then agree later if helping isn’t an inconvenience. If people realize that you will say yes to all requests, then that is when people will walk all over you.

The only time you should instantly agree to someones request is if you owe them. In those situations you can have a symbiotic relationship where each side helps eachother and can rely on eachother.

It's very possible to get walked on when they don't know their legal rights and/or "healthy" boundaries
