Compassion in society is disappearing.. everyone is on tilt to judge, we see any slight of darkness or unhappiness towards us and we get insecure and respond with with poor energy back, I wish we could start the process to make 2023 the year of compassion, where we ask the deeper questions of “why” is this person hostile, are they ok deep down? And all the other questions one would ask if they themselves are in a decent and nice place in their lives💜💜

The thought of someone Junior having empathy for someone senior is like one of the most foreign Concepts in the world. and I think it's one of the most important requirements for the junior person's own happiness. It seems so counterintuitive. Hey, Junior Person: you want to be happy.

Deploy empathy for your manager or your manager's manager or your Leader's leader and you'll be happier. That sounds in outer space because there's entitlement that comes with being Junior You're supposed to do it for me, Leader: but you don't even understand what the leader is going through. I Think that lack of compassion and empathy really hurts people. People understand it going down like people don't understand it looking up and that's a theme to definitely talk about.

It'll help people make them happier.

Seniors will typically say leadership is the hardest role, whereas juniors will subscribe to the dilbert idea that juniors are actually doing the work that their managers arent competent enough to do. There's some truth to both, the reality is that its really easy to be a bad boss but incredibly difficult to be a good manager. The boss has the most accountability and risk with the least straightforward task. Their role requires the most broad skillset and most experience. They handle priorities and impact instead of tasks. Seniors decide what tasks to do, juniors just do the tasks to the best of their ability. If you can speak your manager's language and see things through their lense, seeing how your decisions affect a project or how something you are doing might be optimal or suboptimal for your boss' goals, the process of independently course correcting based on that perspective and being able to communicate it effectively will get you far in your career

I tried this, ans yes, it helps – BUT: for one to understand what a Sr is going through, the Sr must be very open about what he struggles with (i.e. on a corporate level) and what the team or Junior(s) can do, to help improve the situation.

If Sr are only complaining, delegating without background or explanation, collecting the big pay checks – then it is really difficult for anyone to show empathy imho.

Probably because the Jr's are "required" to do most of the "Sr" work while watching that "Sr" play slackass all year until the "Jr" gets fired or quits enough times to get positioned as a "Sr"……

Or maybe I'm not understanding this at all.

    Yes! This is facts.

I wish more people could understand the weight of decision-making and the pressure that comes with being an executive.

I have so much respect and empathy for them.
