Very clever arbitrage here in my opinion, I want to do more “business insights content here” (lmk if you like that) what Overstock did here I think is clever, they have a big biz but their brand is just ok, so instead of spending a ton of $$$ to build theirs up, they bought a great brand name out of bankruptcy and just rebranded, this is very clever and many people should consider doing the same at their levels. Brand matters but many iconic brands are losing their way and more modern operators can swoop in

Pretty interesting Arbitrage Here find this very fascinating: Overstock.com buys Bed Bath and Beyond at a bankruptcy to use the brand name to Rebrand Overstock.com I Like this: I Love arbitrages I Love when people are thinking a little bit differently. You don't see this all the time. And for a lot of internet companies or small entrepreneurs here, for a lot of you, you may have really good businesses in really good sectors. We're an iconic company.

In your sector is actually out of business or on the way out and buying it just for the ARB of the name. Given the size and scale you might be at, Overstock's a big company. Some of the people watching here are gonna be too small to do this, but for the ones that are a little further along, this might become a more common move as some of the iconic Brands uh that we know in different categories start to face big challenges by not being contemporary marketers. not winning on the internet, not winning on social I Thought this was clever I Thought it was worth sharing.

Hope it brings some value. Think about little moves like this. like new account names and things like that for you.

i kind of disagree. All people think of when they hear bed bath is a failed business and overpriced by the time the doors began to close. Plus Target, Walmart and Amazon ate their lunch already they have a massive presence online and for WMT and TGT plenty of stores that are always busy with people. They already have plenty and I don't really see why people would want to shop at overstock because what are they offering that's any different or better? I fail to see the upside.

I think so too Gary Vee, yes. If I could, I would have bought Kmart to prevent it from ending on Puerto Rico and use the brand name to expand the busines, I would have done the same thing like Bed Bath & Beyond. We need Kmart on Puerto Rico urgent.

That's smart, shifting the brand from one company to the next on just the name is big.
