News alert for all of you. the resume is some 1992 I Don't think I've ever looked at a resume in my life. The young woman came up to me and said you made a video that changed my life You said it was okay for me to quit if I was in a toxic job even though I was only in it for six months because I was scared that if my resume had me somewhere for six months it would look bad and you told me it was okay and I quit and I've been so much happier. I Think a lot of people are staying in jobs for one or two years after they realize the job sucks or is not for them two or three weeks in and I think the reason they're doing that is they're worried that it's going to look bad on their resume and I just don't think that's as real as people think in today's environment.

Every company that gives a that you were a stay-at-home mom and don't realize that the skill sets that you learn of raising children are wildly wildly relevant for the world we live in. today is a company that you don't want hiring you in the first place.

He's wrong. Many companies use that resume screening software (forgot what its called). Things like gaps in employment and other criteria spit your resume out before you even get a chance to talk to a human. So yes, employment gaps do matter. What's that? Don't put dates on your resume? That'll get you spit out too.

YES. Also, why is "nanny" a job you put on resumes, but you can't put sahm because that's just "a gap"?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 3polygons says:

This is true… I stayed at one 7 years so, knew it was cr4p since day one…indeed, everybody there knew, and eventually left (but me). Until there was truly no point anymore in staying, and the eldest veteran (cough) left. 90% of the reasons are the CV gap and being scared of change.

HORRIBLE ADVICE! WHO IS THIS ADVICE FOR?? PEOPLE WITH INCOME TO THROW AWAY?? AFFLUENT KIDS??? He's a POS. Resumes are IMPORTANT. Yes gaps don't really matter especially if you explain them. But to say he's never looked at one or did one is atrocious. Shit his advice out and get a trade skill. Some people like farting out of their mouths still like this guy

Unfortunately, in the backwards Midwest, your resume is everything. Also, a degree is everything. I’ve been trying for years to get jobs that would be willing to look at experience and ability rather than a resume and a degree.

I haven’t had any luck yet, but I’d love to believe that what you’re saying is true (elsewhere in America).
