On this episode of "Monday Marketing Takes", Gary sits down with Vice President of Marketing at Pepsico, Todd Kaplan, for an insightful conversation around the shift in the company's tactics due to the unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19. The company's mission is to always be authentic and culturally relevant to their consumers, and the original marketing strategy for 2020 was no longer going to achieve those goals. Luckily, Pepsico had the speed to adapt their strategy and messaging to better suit how consumers were feeling. The important lesson here is that having the speed to adapt and change your strategy is essential to a successful business. While it is always good to have a "plan", the truth is you do no know what could potentially play out during your plan that may require you to adjust or change course. Always be prepared for the unpredictable and have the protocols in place for when the strategy needs to be adjusted in real-time.

There’s no reason why anyone should have to struggle through the grind of a regular old 9-5 job, or an exhausting labor job (both of which I had in the past and HATED) when you are able to trade literally from anywhere and earn good profits.

Been creating content for my family business and running ads on Facebook, Google and Instagram aggressively (ads are massively underpriced in Asia) during the COVID period. Brought in 10x sales every month. The ROI is just insane! Thanks for all the tips Gary!

A lot of people look at these massive companies like Pepsi and Apple and think that they have the advantage of scale, but don't forget that it's also more difficult for them to adjust and change directions because any shifts need to echoed through thousands of employees in the company. Larger companies often are slower to adapt because of their scale. Smaller companies have the ability to adapt and shift more quickly because of their lean structure. Don't forget this!

    Fantastic video.
If you can’t pivot, your business will inevitably become obsolete.

When you get a Pepsi guy, to talk to Gary Vee…the one behind Shakira and J.Lo., is when it hits you that Gary has reached the big boys to admire him also. Now i believe in Gary's advice more in marketing.

Yeah, you are right Gary. I used to like phone calls, because i could do whatever, but i talked more on text than on the phone, 3 minutes phone call max. With video calls, i can talk easily to friends for more than 30 minutes in a group, never thought a phone call could be this fun.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Real Estate Indulgence says:

Very motivating, specially given the current circumstances
