Despite all of my flaws, what has had the most impact on my success is the fact that I listen. I listen to the market, I read peoples comments and impressions on social media and I am always observing patterns and trends in culture. There is so much I want to say 🤯 Mostly I want to touch on the selfish vs. selfless topic (bringing value above all) I have really had to step back this week , as I was anxiously trying to put more content together. (I am a mom of two, in the process of switching careers from a retail GM to a content creator/writer,social media marketer, and starting my own business or two, it’s not really clear I’m just going with my instincts and passions.) but I had to step back and look at why I was so anxious, and it’s because I was trying to create content for engagement, when I crave to create content for value. When I don’t get engagement on my post, I’m not upset that I didn’t get the recognition for the time spent or the tricks I followed. Im upset because it shows I didn’t bring enough value, or I didn’t present my message in a way that delivered the value. When I get even one comment saying my content positively impacted some one’s perspective or life, I am ecstatic, and it was worth it. So I’m realizing and humbling my self to stop trying to rush, and to create content that delivers the value I have to share. In a way that is authentic to me.
Side note: You saying you have terrible reading comprehension really hit home and helped validate that just because I did terrible in school and suck at reading comprehension doesn’t mean I’m not intelligent. I had come to that conclusion in the last few years, but hearing some one I look up to as much as you say this was really impactful. So thank you for everything you put out there, and thank you for reading my novel, you’re the 🐐😜

Gary. Here is my “thank you” and I hope this is what you meant in your messaging. Wife went paralyzed a year or so ago. Had to leave my job that I hated deeply. With your voice I was able to start a business that allows me to spend every minute with my best friend. Now I’m in a place where I can pass you onto friend a and family to help pull themselves out of the fires of their life. I am happy my friend.

there's an irony around self-awareness in that if you think you're self-aware, quite often, you probably aren't. To understand yourself better, self-reflection only gets you so far before you need data from other people. When you unquestionably believe you know yourself you run the risk of becoming blind.
