Love your videos usually Gary, but this one lacks consideration for those who have very real problems. No amount of positivity can change whether you have food on the table to eat or not, or have an enormous mortgage, or worse live in a war-torn area. There are people in first-world, capitalistic, democratic countries that should be happier, granted. But simply documenting unhappiness does not change the fact that for some people in our world, living life actually sucks- and no amount of motivation is going to save them.
I couldn't agree with you more Gary! Every week I live Stream on Facebook, post it into my weekly newsletter, and add to daily conversations in Facebook groups, how you need to acknowledge and be thankful for each day. No matter how shitty your day was/is, there is ALWAYS one thing that was great – whether it's how the sun shone, someone giving you a smile, your kids giving you hugs, a loving embrasse, etc. If the world – people – focused more on the positive things in life, then society would be happier and less stressed. Instead of feeding on the negative, feed the positive!! That's my 2-cents.
that's sales and customer service 1-0-1, a happy customer will be happy and that's it, a unhappy customer will tell everyone about their negative experience.
Social media and media in general has made a voice for the loud, negative people to shine (even as a small part of the overall population), but the happy majority of people have to take the extra effort to have their voices heard and I think supporting those people by reinforcing their positivity with more positivity is the miss. We all do better when we work together.
Gary its proven. 10% are negative, 10% are positive, and 80% are deciding which 10% is influencing them.
I am happy as fuck! I love the world i live in no matter how imperfect it may seem. I get to wake up every day!
found you on Jazza! Thanks for the words…
Hey Gary.. You mentioned about the 10 year Silence Period before actually building a brand and putting a sign: "I made it". However, you also talked about DOCUMENTING THE JOURNEY.. My question: Should you put the documentation of the 10 year metamorphosis out there and let everybody see? I mean, there's a lot of self-made people who provide value by sharing their insights, but how about something new: providing value by empathy?
yay!
Like that vocal effect you threw down on the end D-rock
this is just a fact, but a bit counterintuitive to understand because negativity is ubiquitous and the mind believes what it hears more. when you hear something negative in the news it probably means it's a rare event. so instead of thinking "how can this happen?!" you could say thanks god it's a rare event!" but it's even easier to not watch the news… News is a form of weird entertainment.
Smiles cost nothing and mean Everything!
I'm with you – splash them around like water fountain 🍀😄
Newscasts and mainstream media are a waste of thoughts and energy. Let's bring positive energy to this planet!
Every time I see someone dislike a video on You Tube especially when Gary is talking about spreading positivity makes me cringe. I think You Tube should introduce for every time some one wants to leave a dislike on a video they have to follow it up with an explanation of at least 50 characters. At least then you can use it constructively depending on the comment. F#cking negative people
This is exactly one of the reasons I started a YouTube Channel, to give more positivity and create the content that mainstream media wasn't providing me with. I've had a tough year but generally I'm much happier and I'm tuned into more positive shows like Gary V, Marie Forleo, Sunny Lenarduzzi & Shameless Maya- if you've not seen them demo take a peek.
Would Gary be saying just be positive if he lived in Syria? Or if he was a slave working in China? Gary along with other slimy marketers seem to think if you just smile more, all evil would recede. Would ISIS, put down their weapons, and go become farmers, if we just smiled at them more?
