I don't think anyone will read this but…
– there is money to be made around the industry of non-profit organizations. I'm a manager of a small for-profit business that does marketing on the behalf of non-profits. So, I don't know… best of both worlds? worst of both worlds?
Is it me or did he not really answer the guys question?
hmm how to balance making a difference/passion and being able to have your finances taken care of (practicality) has always been the million dollar question.
Thanks for this Gary. A video I'm gonna save and share with anyone who is thinking of non-profit. it really can save some people some heartache. 🙂
This was a fascinating answer, Gary. I think it needed to be said. Working with nonprofits, in my experience, there is a LOT of jumping in with passion. Too little hard auditing. One of my mentors used to say, "We all serve God with mixed motives." You nailed it.
This is why we love you !!!! Truth at its finest 😊
Gary, please check out a video I made on my youtube explaining my concept for a new social network that can make normally non-profit work and good deeds, profitable. I would really appreciate any advise on the concept.
I don't understand this one can somebody explain to me please?
As a nonprofiteer, I just wanted to thank you Gary for posting this and your thoughts on the nonprofit sector. As the THIRD largest sector in America (behind retail and manufacturing as of 2010, and probably now #2 on this list) and with over 10 million men & women working in the sector… it is a big deal. Different from for-profit? In some ways, YES. But in other way, NPOs are businesses too, and need savvy leaders with good heads on shoulder, biz brains, and the ability to make a payroll plus impact community. I appreciate your change in thinking on how you give (and when in the "life cycle of a business person") ..giving and community is good business, not just good works. Thanks for ALL the advice GaryVee… you are the man!
idk if anyone ever told you but you sound like Joe Pesci
