Gary Vaynerchuk builds businesses. Fresh out of college he took his family wine business and grew it from a $3M to a $60M business in just five years. Now he runs VaynerMedia, one of the world's hottest digital agencies. Along the way he became a prolific angel investor and venture capitalist, investing in companies like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Uber, and Birchbox before eventually co-founding VaynerRSE, a $25M angel fund.
The #AskGaryVee Show is Gary's way of providing as much value value as possible by taking your questions about social media, entrepreneurship, startups, and family businesses and giving you his answers based on a lifetime of building successful, multi-million dollar companies.
Gary is also a prolific public speaker, delivering keynotes at events like Le Web, and SXSW, which you can watch right here on this channel.

If entrepreneurs are born then alot of them would be successful and if entrepreneurs were to be made then still alot of them would be successful so the conclusion here is that entrepreneurs can be born or made
Its talent but also its inspiration. Through being inspired an entrepreneur can be made. Dont sideline your point. Entrepreneurs can be both made and born.
Entrepreneurship is a skillset that can be acquired NOT A TALENT.
well, kinda disagree because entrepreneurship is a skill, like any other skill, it can be practiced and improved. And i believe that it's something that could be naturally made and that anyone can become an entrepreneur if they put their mind to it.
If you think DNA is the key to success then there is no value in your teachings Mr. Vnaynerchuk.
There is no scientific backup whatsoever to support your claim that entrepreneurs are born and that it's in DNA. To be completely blunt with you there are millions if not billions of entrepreneurs walking around. Literally go into each block or neighborhood knock on a couple of doors and you'll likely find one, but most likely that won't be rich. And also more than likely they didn't decide to become an entrepreneur because of a long distance relative or a "genetic factor" which their literally isnt any. And also if you are a guy thats all about be who you are than shouldnt you promote independent thinking? I mean way back in the day sons and daughters used to walk in their parents foot steps but welcome to 2017 where thats no longer necessary. In conclusion to my point and I'm sorry to tell you think but just because you have genes from a talented artist doesn't mean you'll be on.
How do you audit yourself to see if you got the talent?
i totally AGREE, entrepreneurs are B O R N .
I think he is trying to say that entrepreneurship cannot be taught, the only way to learn it is by practice. To me persistency (patience + hard work + promoting yourself) is the real key in any field, that's the difference between the guys who make it and those who don't
I really enjoyed this video, although when I first watched I wasn't sure what Gary was trying to say. The link to article on Garyvaynerchuk.com answered a lot of the questions I had. Where Gary says at the end "only a handful of people have what it takes to truly run a million dollar business" . A book I read recently called Outliers got me thinking about the impact of culture and community if not genetics have on great success, but where this video by GV adds value to me is so what if I can or can't run Multi million businesses. I (or Anyone) can still make a great living around what matters to me and maybe it wont be a multi million dollar biz with hundreds or thousands of employees it can be my own and give me lots of fulfillment and probably more money than 90% of jobs out there. Also if your a real entrepreneur you'll prove it in execution.Thank you Gary for adding value to my life.
This one was good. Totally agree with what you said!
Everything is genetic to a certain extent. Being an entrepreneur requires a natural interest in business (genetic), drive/work ethic (genetic & learnt), intelligence- both IQ and EQ (genetic) and to a certain extent charisma/like ability (genetic & learnt). You need pretty much all of these to become a 100 in business- although it does depend what business you go into I guess.
You can't be born an entrepreneur, why? because it makes no sense. A human can be born tall and more athletic than others because of his genes so he will have more chances at becoming a good NBA player, but NOT more suited for making a business or for entreprenership. Why? there are genes that can make you more tall, more atheletic than someone but NOT genes that impact your ability to make a business
perseverance vs. cleverness
Someone who is clever is fast and someone who persevere has to go the extra mile. That is the difference between being a talent or not. All other comes with experience and willing to do. So everybody can be entrepreneur, it's about the right targets and having the right tools available.
I would say few are born with what Gary has (a knack for business) while most learn and grow into being strong/good business people. I think its like 15% talent, 85% hard work, learning through experience.
Straight on face. This what i love about you. 🙂
can't jump on this "entrepreneur is a talent" idea
This is a good example of clouded judgement. In short, Gary, your success has clouded your judgement in this instance. In the nature vs. nurture argument, nurture comes out on top in nearly all instances. Talent is learned, not gifted to people. Sure, certain genetically-derived physical traits can give you an advantage over others in certain situations, but knowing how to use those traits to your advantage is learned. You also overlook what is often the greatest determinant of success. Lets call it luck, some might say opportunity. This goes in sport as it does in business. For example, there might be many very talented quarter backs for example at one point in time but only room in the team for one, the others miss out not due to lack of skill or talent, but opportunity.
