Nothing this man says impresses me.

If you want to be underestimated then dress like a programmer. If you want to be overestimated then wear a suit.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Emperor9992001 says:

If you need a creative genius then hire someone who dresses like one, but if you need someone who has the discipline to perform at the highest level when under fire then hire someone who has the discipline to wear a uniform or business suit. Just because Zuck or Cuban can fall into a billion dollars doesn't mean that they are worth more than the soldier or businessman who wear a uniform.

Gary..what's your take on things like tattoos….I have full sleeves and have my own accounting practice…I've been told by people who know me to use them to brand myself combined with the service they know I provide…but that "traditional" part of me wonders if this is an industry too steeped in "the way it's always been done" with respect to appearance so I've always kept them covered….but that's just not me if you see what I'm saying…

I've never seen Mark Zuckerburg in a suit. If he can go to work in a hoodie and make a billion before his 28th birthday, so can i.

I change it up because I like to be random. I used to wear a suit but don't anymore. The important thing is to be yourself. Look at Mark Cuban.

Speaking of dress code – a sweater in July? ย Isn't there a heat wave in NYC right now? ย Bold!

I can't like this hard enough. Corporate life baffles me. Point in case a coworker ran up to me the other day to jokingly explain new hires were told that they couldn't have earrings or exposed tattoos, both of which we both had. She didn't realize one of the partners was coming down the hall at that exact moment. As we both kind of froze wondering what he was going to say, he just laughed and said he didn't care about either of those things. Sound process I get, but doing things just because that's how they've been done before doesn't make any sense to me, especially when you don't even have the inclination to enforce it!

Always believed this. Impress people with what you know and can do, not by how you look.
