As a teacher and any professional looking to expand their personal brand, my advice remains the same -- Cut out the crap, stop wasting time on non-important things, and hustle to build your brand.
If you want to build a more scalable brand you need to put out content. Utilize the technology around you like SlideShare, Spreecast, and Google Hangouts which allow you to further establish your credibility, and where you can also charge people for participating if they're willing to do so.
Use your content as a gateway to drug to allow you to further establish yourself and your brand. What I really see here is that people are just loaded with excuses. Do you really want to build your brand or do you want to watch 'Homeland?' Do you really need to take that hour long lunch? LUNCH? C'mon!! There's better ways to use our time. I'm not saying you shouldn't eat, but do you really need that much time for lunch?!?
As with anything in life, you just need to figure out your cadence. What do you really want? Are you wasting your time by doing things that aren't allowing you to achieve the levels you want? If you really want to expand your brand, start putting out content, engage with people that may be interested in what you have to offer, cold call, and do whatever else it takes, even if that means having two hours less of sleep.

Idea for the Music teacher – I think she was saying that she's maxed out hours that she has to take students for private lessons. So here are two ideas to scale her business. Do group classes at a slightly cheaper rate than private lessons ( maybe the classes are nuanced) Second – membership website or digital courses. You can sell millions of one "intro to piano" video series. I would love the option to rewind and re-watch. You could do a video series about how to get better at sight reading music, A series on music theory. All you need is a camera – I think even a cell phone might get you started. I'm sure you know someone with a prosumer point and shoot. Put that baby on a tripod, hit record, and ENTER FRAME…begin music lesson. Try to have a well lit room. It doesn't have to look like Martin Scorsese, you just have to deliver a good music lesson on camera. Maybe find a film student to hire to do the editing if you can't figure the editing part out on your own. I work in video production, trust me – I watch hours of horribly made educational video and the only thing I care about is the information I'm getting. You can build a wordpress site where your products live ( see YouTube for "How to build a WordPress site")  and voila! Micro blog on FB, Insta, and YouTube to give your audience tips and tidbits on technique. It's not a weekend project, it's work to make even a crappy piece of shit, but if you want it, you will do it.

If you don't like lunch then those that mean you don't do brunch neither?

I never understood the 1 hr lunch or 1 hr coffee. It seems to be the best way to get things done slowly.

With regards to Sarah Wentzell's situation: I SO agree with you, Gary, about Twitter as an effective search platform. I have a couple of suggestions to help with productively maximizing her teaching time: Udemy & YouTube.

Seriously ADORE the rant about lunch!

Hey Gary, great show. I love the rants and when you 'un-leash' what you really think. The music lady's Q and your response was the highlight of the show for me.

I love the depth you go to in your answers. Since I've been hooked on your show and on my high doses of "Vitamin V" I've been moving faster and working on my efficiency. I can't wait to read your books.

I remember watching the cold calling video.  I was selling Facebook Business pages and was looking for tips on how to get past the feeling and that was one of the first videos that got me to the point where I said to myself "Do don't Think"

I agree with Yash. The previous music was way better.

Just watched the Cold Calling video. One of the most eye openings videos I have ever seen when it comes to entrepreneurship.
