I haven’t made it to 50 yet but I’m getting there. I needed to hear this.

I'm 56 and work 12hr shifts to make ends meet, but not getting ahead. I want my children and grandchildren to be proud of me and learn from me, but I'm afraid to take that first step. I have always been afraid to take any steps in the direction you talk of; hard work is all I know. I feel like I would lose everything I have worked for and therein lies the fear.
