Let me set the record straight.
I do not have a business card. I will never have a business card.
A business card in 2015 makes absolutely zero sense.
Let’s get back to the original reason people even have business cards: to deliver information.
Well, you might have noticed, smart phones are a thing now. And freaking everyone has one.
So, here’s what you do:
1. Take out your f*cking phone.
2. Email the person on the spot.
It’s better. It’s cleaner. You won’t lose the card. It’s efficient. It’s right. You can even turn the phone and show the person what you wrote down if you’re really that nervous about it.
Can’t believe this is even a discussion.
Gary Vaynerchuk builds businesses. Fresh out of college he took his family wine business and grew it from a $3M to a $60M business in just five years. Now he runs VaynerMedia, one of the world's hottest digital agencies. Along the way he became a prolific angel investor and venture capitalist, investing in companies like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Uber, and Birchbox before eventually co-founding VaynerRSE, a $25M angel fund.
The #AskGaryVee Show is Gary's way of providing as much value value as possible by taking your questions about social media, entrepreneurship, startups, and family businesses and giving you his answers based on a lifetime of building successful, multi-million dollar companies.
Gary is also a prolific public speaker, delivering keynotes at events like Le Web, and SXSW, which you can watch right here on this channel.

How do you argue with a millionaire?
Debatable.
Sorry Gary but I disagree, still very useful to hand out at networking events then email or call later.
Que tonto eres
Who is this?
Can you put stupid on a business card or should I just email it to you?
you are right
Sorry, the first time I strongly disagree with you *****
So many clients (I'm based in Germany fyi) in my B2C are older and even don't have their own email account. They share it with their wife/husband and check it only once a week – if at all.
They would think I'm way to complicated, to techniqually – they see an email as a barrier not as an ice breaker.
So, business cards are also an emotional thing – if they are beautiful made. Everybody loved touching my cards and looking at it so far.
Standard business cards are crap. But beautiful made with a good haptic feeling is worth the money.
Im asking young people straight after handing out the card for their email, so I have both.
AAhh, love that so much.
Bcards still work – son-in-law hands out magnetic bcards for $1,000 per month accounts. Got a handful of accounts last time (@ $1K a pop). Here, take my phone and hang it on your fridge. Call me when you need my services. "?" However I absolutely agree w/Gary on everything! (does not keep bcards from still working though)
Biz card with QR
Put your name on one side, QR on the other.
They will scan it out of curiosity.
classic… decisive advice like this; exactly why i follow Gary V.
Load of shit, there is something different about receiving a business card it feels more official, people get thousands of emails and are not going to care about your one after time, but a business card if they put it in wallet can get reminded of it time and time again
Pretty much how I've handled that situation for the last 5 years lol
For you not for the rest of the world.
I love this SO MUCH!!!!!!! Emailing them straight away… genius. Such a great tip. I'm not proud to say that I've never had a business card but considering I was just about to get some, this tip is absolutely golden. New fan (only discovered you a couple weeks ago) and am eagerly awaiting my copy of JJJRH to come in the mail. 🙂 Thanks Gary!
Gary, the song in all your videos "Jab, jab, jab, right hook" is available for download? My man, I NEED THIS SONG Lol
