I've been in the Discord for months. Nobody can explain to me how a Patient Panda is going to be a Pokemon-level IP. Like.. how? A children's Netflix show? How is a Patient Panda going to have value in 45 years? 45 years ago computers barely existed, and yet Gary feels that these characters will have a 4-decade run.
I know the canned answer to these questions. You've all been watching Gary's motivational YouTube videos for a fucking decade. It's all powered by faith. I get all of that. But that isn't a business plan. Aside from all the FOMO bullshit going on right now, I just don't see how a decade from now these characters drawn on napkins will have any value. I also realize that Gary loves to be considered the underdog, so my comment is just fuel for the fire. Thankfully he has a few hundred MILLION dollars to his name to make achieving this goal a bit easier.
I'd love to see some metrics on how many of the VeeFriends owners have been watching Gary for years. If this is going to be a success, he has to capture OTHER people, not just his audience. I'm not captured. If I walk into a Target and there is a drawing on a napkin that is $6,000, and some dude is standing next to it is telling me it's going to change my life, I'm not buying the fucking napkin. I don't care if it comes with access to a conference – I've been to so many conferences – I can expense a conference on my corporate card without even thinking twice about it. And on that note – nobody even seems to care what the conference is about or what they're looking to achieve at it. I gotta say – there comes a point when blind positivity becomes toxic.
I wish people who have money to help animals by supporting veganism to stop slaughterhouses
