The nuances of building self esteem are fascinating to me, this is one pov from one man’s opinion that I hope can bring some value … for non parents the 🔑 in this video is that much of this is also a factor in building a team or a culture in your company, pay attention to what you reward, what you cheer for, what you clap up, and be careful not to kill merit and truth (8th place 🏆) and be careful not to create delusional perspectives (you can be Beyoncé) that doesn’t build self esteem or builds pushback once that human knows you're full of shit 💩 🙂 … have the best day everyone and tag 🏷️ a parent or a ceo who you think will get value here

What do you compliment your kids on their Humanity If you're complimenting your kids constantly on how attractive they are, you're so beautiful. You're so cute. You're so handsome. you're instilling affirmation on that, which is gonna affect them when they're in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.

because that's going to be their self-worth If you're telling them that they're remarkable because they're getting A's in school, you're teaching them to conform to systems that aren't real once they become 22. it might not be the best idea. eighth place Trophies bother me if your seven-year-old loves Beyonce But when she's running around the house singing literally, you have to put earplugs in because it's the worst sound you've ever heard. It's probably a bad idea to tell her she can be Beyonce one day too.

It's not a bad idea to say if she puts in a lot of work, she could be better at singing than she is today.

I don’t complement my kid on making good grades, but I do complement them on hard work and learning new things. “Say things like…”Wow how you learned that? You must have worked at it hard and/or really practiced to…..get the correct answer or developed that skill!”

Thank you for this truth! I tell my son he's a good man, because he is a good person to other people, not because he's musically talented, which he is, but that isn't what he should be proudest of. Being a good human being is what can change the world if everyone strives to be one. That's what I'm proud of him for. Just my opinion, of course, but I honestly feel everyone can be a good person if they really want to be. It's a conscious choice, not genetically inherited. That's something to be proud of, in my opinion. 😊
