Enough! Parents have talked youth out of shit for years only to have that “thing” becoming a major business and very financially viable, it’s very consistent, of course someone has to be good at the “thing” to make it viable financially but …. But … to stop a kids dream because it wasn’t something when you were growing up is a mistake more parents need to be careful of, also what about happiness, forget even the financial part… happiness needs to be a bigger goal 🥅 of parents for their kids 💗💗💗

As a 47 year old, watching how many parents demonized our youth. Don't get into rap, Don't get into punk rock, Don't get into video games. I Mean do you understand how many parents were mortified that their kids wanted to cook? That was the help. Meanwhile, what happened on the back end of that was the explosion of the Food Network and famous chefs and like skateboarding I Remember when I was in second third grade exploded and like that's not a profession? Tony Hawk Video Games and profession Booger ninja.

Your job is to help your kids find their life's task and that might be something that makes no sense to you. That might be something that scary to you. that's weird to you. And when they find the thing that lights them up, your job is to encourage that, facilitate it.

Give them the kinds of lessons that allow that to be their thing.

My oldest (10) is obsessed with Minecraft, so I asked him if he wanted to learn how to code so he could create skins and maps to sell, and I swear he did the most dramatic Pikachu face! 😂

I started at 6 selling card magic tricks (and later flea market flipping at 8) so I could buy lunch food and not have to take scraps out of the trash can anymore.

It's an absolute joy to explore options with my kids and to do not out of scarity but enjoyment.

Who’s parents thought cooking was for the help? That’s rich folk lol. Gary bee king of saying nothing in a monotone voice so people can think he’s smart.

Anyway, 10 yo kids sitting 8 hours + behind a console or PC is not cool and you can be whoever you want but I will still call this BS… like this, you will make a mentally disabled kid that could be called normal based on US standards…

Eh. More or less. Only a small fraction of people can be successful in the things mentioned. If they’re completely obsessed with their passion, great. But If they’re obsessed to the lvl of the people mentioned all you have to do is not block them. They’re going to do it anyway.

But a good parent is going to help them realize what they’re good at. Which when they’re young, generally means encouraging them to try a variety of things, and not worry about failing.

I loved watching food network as a kid flipping back and forth between that and cartoon network

Your parents give better advice to strangers they like than their own kids. Like….live! Don't save, enjoy your money. Don't get married. College is a waist of time. Sleep with a lot of people. Make bad decisions and learn.

Hey Gary. Did you know companies like Sony and BMG were invested in the private prison companies in the 90’s when gangster rap was big. Some of the artists were invested as well.
