Everything we see, everything we feel, everything we do is based on supply and demand. Period. We're living in a 24-7, 365 world. We're just too busy and our time is way too limited.
While we're getting smarter about our targeting efforts based on this smart data that we're collecting, sometimes we get way too focused on the hunting rather than the farming. Some times, we need to pay more attention to retention, as opposed to acquisition. In this fast paced, on-the-go world that we're living in, we tend to forget about the importance of taking care of those around us. We tend to forget about the importance of EQ rather than all these smart tactics that we're employing around the numbers we gather. At the end of the day, human-to-human engagement still matters. Although our world may seem to be getting bigger and bigger because we're so much more connected, if you take a step back and look around, you'll see that we're actually as intimate as we've ever been. You just need to start looking at the right things.

he does say the one closest to the consumer will win- i also think people should really hire out if they cant do this task. people will see this and do it out of necessity vs doing it because you actually like it and i dont think thats too bad i just think if its in your blood you'd be a lot better at it. at least that's a hunch of mine

I do think that connecting with people is the greatest value….and it takes time.   I like this quote,  "I think the older I get, the more I realize that the ultimate luxury is time."   Michael Kors

I think another thing in short supply is faith – in yourself and your business. IF you are actually putting out good products and services, have some faith that your businesses will grow. I think one reason that entrepreneurs "hunt" so much is that they're just scared that their businesses will tank if they are not constantly getting more new customers. It's hard for me too – but I've been really working on nurturing my customers as a community, and guess what? My business is growing because of it.

Brilliant Gary.  In less than a minute and a half, you were able to say so much so well.  Farming, retention, caring, ditching the acquisition game.  Listen up people, Gary's got the f-ing microphone.
