Hey Gary, if life is a marathon, I feel like I am in last place. I have a clock in clock out job, no house, no car, I walk to work (and today was the first day of snow of the season so I’m not looking forward to the next few months), I had to drop out of college because I ran out of money (I was finding it myself w/o loans/parents because I don’t have anyone like that and no credit), I’m basically squatting at my girlfriends house for shelter, and I just feel like I’m not going to get anywhere in life.
I guess I watch and follow the lives of others because I can’t do it myself and I live vicariously through others because I am so unlucky that I can’t get my stuff together.
I can’t save money because all I have is enough to get by and pay my bills. I’m not finding any joy outside of the walls where I live because there is nothing out there for me. Consumerism and shopping does nothing for me, I get a used shirt thrift shopping every now and then and the most I buy for myself are razors/deodorant every few months.
There are so many talented people in the world, who can take nothing and build an empire out of dirt; but all I have is a pile of dirt and it just started raining on it. Is there anything to do to just become successful? There is no prosperity for the working poor; no future that I see where I make it out of the bottom. This video is old but I came to it after seeing Billy Corgan reference it in one of his videos just this last week. What can someone do when all the have is debt, an empty bank account and no hope. I know there are people who have it worse. I’m not homeless, I’m not dying (my girlfriends grandfather just passed last week from lung and brain cancer so that’s something we are dealing with), I’m not depressed. I’m just stuck and hopeless. I’m not dead, but I am not living. My dad lived off food stamps most of my childhood after my parents divorced, and my mom moved into a low income housing apartment. I haven’t seen either of my parents in the last two years. It makes me sad but I cannot face them anymore from my failures and dropping out of college. I want to propose to my girlfriend, but I cannot afford to, and I can to afford to have a wedding that she would be happy with. I don’t know if I’ll ever have the thousands of dollars it costs to have a wedding. I don’t think I’ll ever get to live any of my dreams, do the things that I want to do, go to where I want to go, and I’ll make it to 90 years old scraping by, and die without ever getting to live. And it’s almost like I’ve accepted that. I’m in a place where I am okay with my failures. The only reason why I couldn’t finish college was because I ran out of money. I was two years in, and had two years to go. People in high school were so jealous of the way I could perform in school, I graduated as 6th in my class out of 313 in 2016 and I didn’t even try my hardest. That is just where I ended up. I could have been valedictorian/salutatorian but that’s not what my goals were. I was too busy figuring out if I was going to eat one meal or none that day, how long I could stay in the local library until they would kick me out, and where to go after that until I walked back to my dads apartment to sleep on the couch (I haven’t had my own bed since I was 11 when my parents divorced and our house was foreclosed) and wake up to walk to school and do it again.
It’s really true that you have to buy an education and a degree. I could have one, I was supposed to graduate my university in the class of 2020 next May. However, another thing I’m never going to get to do. I’ll never graduate anything higher than high school all because I have no money, no credit for a loan, no parents that could afford it, and no family that is a real family to me. I could of had a college education, a $50K+ salary, a home, a car, a wedding, goals that felt attainable; I don’t anymore. You don’t care though, you’re doing just fine, spreading inspirational words and making people hopeful. What can you do when someone doesn’t feel hope anymore. The new year is coming up and I’m just excited that sometime I’m not going to have to work anymore and not live paycheck to paycheck. I want to make sure you know I’m not dying, I don’t want to die, hell I stated before that I’m living to 90+ and I’ll even wrestle Death into a stranglehold to squeeze a few more years into me if I have to but I’m not living anymore. And I don’t think I ever will get to again.
Daily positive energy! Thanks Gary!
I'm getting ready for the bigger picture , helps bc I'm not always strong

Awesome one! 🙂
Hey GaryVee… I was drawn into a contradiction the other day… your video about "Emotion is the killer" VS "I win because I care"… chewing on that one. My favorite 'motivational video' was Fuck Your Gonna… awesome. Cheers!
Hey DRock… you change your camera or lens lately? Image seems super clear… super deep… what's the change? THX!
i have a question for you Gary how you do it ? i mean you are always motivated, meeting peope, hustling, working 24/7/365 and i can't even leave my bed every morning.
Thumbs up #978
