If you can limit your interaction with your loved ones who are negative and pessimistic, you can't cut your mom out. You can't cut your brother out. Can you limit your mom and brother? You can if your mom's extremely negative and you're watching us right now and you realize that you are pessimistic and this is what's actually holding you down and you say, you know what? I'm not going to talk to my mom four times a day because I Watch this. You know who listens to people that complain, other people that want to complain to that person.
It's just one big complaining. Circle If you can limit mom if she's the one to once every four days instead of four times a day and add Sally from The Office Who's a bundle of joy? You would not believe what would happen if you watch one hour less of the news or in your screen except like what's wrong in the world and you spend one hour more of what's good in the world. One hour a day that will change everyone's life.

So true! I use the term “loving from a distance” sure I’ll spend time with them here and there, and I’ll talk to them occasionally. But I never divulge any real info, or anything meaningful because they are so negative. Sucks that I can’t be 100% truthful to them but it’s way better that way for my mental health. I’m thankful to have people I can have real conversations with.

Thats a so good advice on multiple levels. E.g. I used to read on regular bases the police news of our town. Since it was always condensed with only negative news, I felt at a time like living in Gotham City. The advice of Gary is going to give me an outlook into a brighter future. One of my family members can be very, "the sky is falling" at times. They are the type who can't just relax for a bit. Sometimes you just want to hang out with a loved one and chill without the conversation going into some kind of problem or crisis. This person can't do it. My past attempts to point this out to them didn't go well.
