We get it, Gary. You think you’re better because you know who Randy Orton’s dad is.
I love this, I grew up as a huge fan back when it was the WWF and still do on occasion but it’s not quite what it once was. My fascination with wrestling was, from the observer’s perspective, these were larger than life characters that had the greatest level of self confidence, took crap from nobody, they weren’t afraid to go out in front of 60,000 people while millions watching at home being what they want to be, saying what they really felt to whoever & whenever they want and basically doing whatever they want no matter how unorthodox it was. They looked like gladiators but their characters greatly varied so there was always something for everyone. Yeah, it’s entertainment but it’s really fun stuff if you see it as that instead of a “fake sport” (they’ve always claimed to be entertainment instead of a legit sport).
Although I now watch WWE on occasion, much like Gary I do like keeping figures on display of the wrestlers I grew up with. These wrestlers, such as Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock, Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Kane, etc. symbolized to me, as a kid, present yourself authentically as you want, do and say what you want without giving a crap about what others think and fight for that to the end. When my parents went through a divorce and I was moving all around and when my self esteem dropped and I had issues with kids at school, all of those emotions went away whenever I was watching Raw or Smackdown.
