I see it all the time .. people get so romantic about what they “know” that they stop being open to the new. I see fresh eyes aka young talent as the future because they see what’s going on, they understand the conversations & macro social framework, and they’re not “too good” to try. —

As long as all the kids that we're trying to inspire when I say kids I mean creative kid thinking if we can Inspire them to solve problems that they clearly see and not overvalue of how everybody tried to solve it, they will create some of the most important Innovations of all time. I effing love this! I am a consultant… I am expected to know, but that's dangerous. I want my son to think differently.
The "experts" aren't that smart. Really smart people learn as much as they can about something or several somethings (learning about one thing necessarily leads you to learn about other related things), then get bored and move on to the next thing. We also don't take everything at face value. Someone tells me something that doesn't jive with what I know or have experienced, just because they are wearing a lab coat and call themselves an expert doesn't mean I just accept what they say. I may go back and dig into my own knowledge base, then keep digging into other stuff I can find about it, but people overestimate how much they know about literally everything. They also lie… for various reasons.
