Been enjoying all your content that you’ve been putting out.. especially enjoyed the fact that you were committing to spending time with each of your employees twice a year.
I wish my boss would do the same. he is a micromanager and doesn’t allow you to be the owner of your own domain..
You’re not allowed to think for yourself I know there’s at times where I would say something and he would just yell at me.. I keep thinking that’s his inadequacy of feeling that I am thinking for him or smarter than him…
He has a small team that I feel that he spreads then a lot of times and it goes back to what you’re saying that people should hire people.. he makes fun of other sister companies and how they do things example having too many people… I used to think him managing. 3 yards and multiple jobs Versus some of these guys only managing one job made him a superhero… It doesn’t, Only makes him spread thin… he rules with an iron fist and has to always know what’s going on so everybody has to go through him, to ask to do work etc… i’m not for sure why I guess his mentality is that everybody’s trying to screw him…
I’m ready to jump and I’m working on getting back in a more creative roll.. enjoying the product you’re working on and the people around you make a world of difference =HAPPINESS!!!
Thank you….I’m listening to your content realizing that I wish that my boss would actually take the time and do these twice a year meetings.
I used to work for a company that actually did these meetings but it was more you had to fill out some complex form with concrete goals to reflect on and to work towards your bonus.
Current setting my boss does not do these twice a year reviews which I think are important to keep you on track he’s only talking do you when things are not going right and not reflecting on the overall..
Also talked about for the Instagram questions about people not hiring enough people I feel that my boss Pride himself on having a lean and mean group and makes fun of others for having so many more people..
Mind you things would run better and people wouldn’t be stretched so thin if you just realize that having just one more person with ease some of the pressure..
I think he thinks two short term and doesn’t think of the long-term..
At that point of retiring but he’s not going to retire and he’s too much of a micromanager he does not allow you to be successful in your own domain…
That is why I’m at a point where I’m on the defense all the time and I’ve just got a pull the Band-Aid and walk away…
